Do you own a case that still has 80mm fans installed and ever wanted to get a better airflow in your case but you simply dont have the room for it? Well Scythe came up with a simple but very effective drive-bay cooler. This cooler can be installed in the front of your case, which adds more airflow going in to your case. I myself was looking for a way to improve and direct the airflow towards the back of my case….

Here it is straight out of the box, the Kama Bay Cooler from Scythe.

The design is simple yet effective….

The Kama Bay comes equiped with a Scythe120mm Silent fan.

The Kama Bay also has a dust filter which can easily be removed for cleaning.

Onething to mention is that the version I am reviewing here had a dust filter which was'nt flat (due to packaging fault), this interupted the fan from spinning. But by simple laying the filter between two books flattened it perfectly. The next shot shows you the curled up filter, if you look close enough you can see the filter touching the fan.

The next shot shows you the Kama Bay fully dissasambled.

Installing the Kama bay is a piece of cake. Just slide it in and fasten it.

With some cases you might be able to install the Kama Bay without the four extension plates. I my case I had to install the plates before I was able to install the Kama Bay. Each extention plate is fastened with four small screws (which is included in the package).

Eeven if you have big hands like me, installing the extension plates is a breeze:-)

The next shows me installing the extension plates….

All finished, now it's time to fit it in the case….

All done, it looks kinda slick in this Lian-Li V2000 :-)

Conclusion
The Scythe Kama Bay brinsg extra features with versatility for your system cooling! This 5.25" bay system cooler is so unique that you can mount in 3-ways, using it as HDD cooler (hidden or exposed) or an extra fan for your system cooling.

The Kama Bay is a good upgrade for those that have a case that has'nt got space to add fans within the case itself. It's very easy to install and it can be used in in various congurations, like cooling harddrives in the 5,25 bay or for example just to create a better and cooler airflow within the case.

Pros:
- Good performance
- Multi purpose design
- Silent fan (rated 17dBA)
- Easy to install
- Available in 3 colors

Cons:
- Dust filter curls easily, which could interupt the fan from spinning if not flattened properly.
